3 Objective of MoU to be addressed

Analysing of the suitable models and indices for assessing the impact of climate change and variability. Defining the risk for European agriculture

 

4 Contribution:

Chairman of COST Action

 

Part of the scientific programme concerned with:

-  Definition of indices and models for climate change and variability analysis (WG 1)

 -  Analysis of agroclimatic data for the assessment of climate variability trends (WG 2)

 -  Risk assessment of several European agricultural areas (WG 4)

 

Deliverables:

- assistance of Josef Eitzinger in guidance of WG 1

 - assistance of Vesselin Alexandrov in guidance of WG 2

 - assistance of Lucka Kajfez Bogataj in guidance of WG 3

 - assistance of Jørgen Eivind Olesen in guidance of WG 4

Indicative timetable:

year 1  Securing that all WGs are running on detailed work plans based on 

inventories on existing knowledge and on identification of needs.

Dissemination of the preliminary results. MC reports.

 

year 2/3           Regular WG-meetings for planning, implementing, reviewing and synthesising.

Dissemination of the preliminary results. MC reports.

 

Year 4             Completion of the work of all 4 WGs.

                        Dissemination of the results. MC reports

 

Resources:

Pervious experience:

Department of Agronomy of Florence has a large experience on the analysis of climate change impact on agriculture. Simone Orlandini collaborated to these activities. He was also a member of COST Action 718 and he is Italian delegate to COST Action 730.
